Back for a Bit With Alicia Bock
i started blogging one million years ago…2008ish. as many of you know, i started because i was a newish momma and i wanted a space of my own. i was new to the pacific northwest and frankly, quite lonely. i was looking for a way to connect and to share bits of inspiration i had been bumping into from sites like etsy, sfgirlbybay and design*sponge. kind of a way of saying “look what i found!” and hoping for some type of response. it worked. folks began to respond and bliss grew. i became a self-proclaimed expert on shouting from the rooftops…showing others the amazing talent i just couldn’t keep to myself.
a million years later…we are here. the feelings of isolation i felt in 2008 pale in comparison to how i have started to feel within this week and a half due to the heartbreaking cover-19. where do i go for a tiny bit of relief from feelings of isolation? blogging! duh! haha!
there are still so many beautiful glimpses of inspiration out there. i will be back here for a bit.
it only seems right that i start with alicia bock. i believe she may have been the first artist i had the pleasure of sharing with my blissful audience. obviously, she is ridiculously talented…her ability to capture tiny moments and turn them into giant works of art is fantastic. sun spots, shadows, bokeh and blur are transformed into borrowed memories through alicia’s lens. in many cases, i could swear i had that very same moment…
alicia bock has a site where you can purchase beautiful prints aaaaand she has a spring sale running, 25% off! yip!
supporting artists is ridiculously important during these times…but you already knew that.
back tomorrow peeps…why? because you are stuck with me for the time-being.
xo!
