My first tag
Tags are tough for me. I think it is because I don't like to share too much...believe it or not, I think I am pretty shy. Totally my hang-up and I need to get over it. What better way than to actually complete one of these tags? I could not pick a better one to complete. Especially since I was tagged by two of my favorite bloggers: Marie Louise at Cottage Industries and Stacey at La Boudoir.
Here's to stepping outside the comfort zone....cheers!
{1} What was I doing 10 years ago?
The above picture was taken almost exactly 10 years ago. I was pinning Mr.French's wings on. We were young silly and oh so innocent. This was pre 9/11. Mr. French was a military aviator and this meant something completely different back then. I honestly think I was completely naive as to what that truly meant. I was living in Texas, newly married, my best friends were a group of guys; a wonderful, wacky group of pilot-wannabes. Little did we know at the time that all of them would see the pain and heartache of war. I had no idea that the life that we knew at that moment would change drastically. Four years from that moment I would be spending sleepless nights alone, waiting by the phone with a heavy heart, and tears...praying to whatever god is out there to make Mr. French just call to let me know he was ok. Pouring my heart out in emails, waiting for word to come that he would be coming home to me...safe.
He doesn't do that anymore, I lose my breath thinking about it and cry for those families that still go through this worry and despair.
Oh goodness, I really need to lighten up.
