my news....
what are you doing this weekend? I so wish I could head down to the bay area and go to sunset's celebration weekend..."where the pages of sunset come to life." vendors, events and the "secondhand sunset tent." The tent is stocked with sunset props, all priced from $1-$20 and all proceeds go to the reuse people. Personally, I have my eyes on these wicker lights...
sunset has quickly become my favorite magazine...I love everything about it, the home features, garden advice and yummy recipes. I also love, love, love the features on west coast neighborhoods, and profiles of local artists. which is sort of linked to the "news" I was excited to share yesterday....included in the celebration weekend festivities, is the debut of the sunset modern cottage...an idea house plum full of all things sunset. Including my "dogwood pretties"!!!!!!
suzanne, of the beholder, was asked to curate an installation for the idea house, exhibiting affordable work by west coast artists...and she contacted me! (along with so many of my favorites..sharon montrose, rachel ann austin, andrea jenkins, and lisa congden...just to name a few)! a pinch-me-moment on the grandest scale!

kjell (the plywerk guy) received a frantic call from me...he put the piece together in less than 24 hours, mounting my dogwoods on a beautiful piece of bamboo and voila....
"proud" does not even begin to describe how I feel about this! I am also so happy to announce that this very dogwood piece and a few others of mine are listed on the beholder site...I can't stop smiling...thank you suzanne, victoria (which is how suzanne found me), jess (a lovely home writer for sunset, who co-curated the installation...also the pretty lady in the photographs) and kjell for turning a frantic phone call into a work of art to be proud of....if you are in the bay area please, please stop by the idea house and keep my dogwoods company!!!
